Pear. 1996. Steel, dried moss, bean vines and vegetable garden. 16' x 8' x 8'.

Commissioned by the Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Both the subject and the medium of this sculpture are food. This was a community-oriented project. Once the steel structure was built, various youth groups and volunteer gardeners helped wrap moss around the steel form and planted the vegetables in concentric circles around the sculpture, with bean vines to grow up and fill out the form of the pear.
