This was a community project in which both the subject and the medium of the sculpture are food. After the steel structure was formed in a pear shape, various youth groups and volunteer gardeners helped wrap moss around the steel form and planted the vegetables in concentric circles around the sculpture, with bean vines to grow up and fill out the form of the pear.
